What is an infographic? If you don't know, go look it up. Read about it and then in your own words tell me what an infographic is. What do infographics do? How do they work? What makes a really good infographic?

Find an example of a really cool infographic on the web and place it on your blog.

I think an infographic is a visual image of charts and or graphs. They give you information that looks as if it's drawn or something. I think they work in chronological order but, I'm not 100% sure. What makes a nice to mean is having it be color coded with a key describing what the colors stand for.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

After school on Friday I didn't go to the parade. When my mom was taking me home, we got stopped by the parade people at a traffic light but, we only saw a few things and than they let us go. That night, I did go to the homecoming football game. It was kind of fun but, not that much because, we were beating the other team by so much and I was tired. Saturday, I did go to homecoming. I got my hair and nails done, then I went over my friend Sarah's house to take pictures. After pictures we went to Applebee's and then we were off to the dance. The dance was pretty fun and I had a good time.

Blog Post of the Day:
Imagine Mr. Bacon has asked you to suggest one way of improving Blue Valley High School to make it a better place for students. Think about the changes that are needed at your school. Pick one change you feel would really make a difference and explain what it is and why you'd make the change.

One change I would make is the class periods. 7 hours are hard for kids to keep up with. Students should be challenged but, you shouldn't over push them. I think students would  have better GPA's and more time for extracurricular activities. Tests and are hard to study for if most of them are on the same day or same week. 7 hours are okay but I feel that 6 would be better.

What are your favorite apps on your phone or tablet? Why?

My favorite app on my iPod is Instagram. I love posting pictures and seeing what other people has posted. Also, since really don't like using my ugly Motorola phone, I keep in contact with my friends from Michigan with the apps kik and snapchat. Kik is just texting from an app. I dont use iMessage because its kind of embarrassing giving somebody your email just so u can text them. Snapchat is one of my favorite apps because you can so much with pictures and somebody can only see it for a few seconds.

What is email? When do you use email in your own personal life? List reasons and ways that people use email. What do you know about "email etiquette"?

Email is a way to get information and communicate with others though electronic devices. Most adults use email to contact co-workers, supervisors, and their bosses. For instance, my dad uses email to keep in contact with his old friends. My mom used e-mail for a job interview. Teenagers mostly use their e-mail to set up their phone, use social media and other apps. I have no idea what email etiquette is.

Now that you've been in Emerging Technology for several weeks... what do you think? Do you think the web tools (Drive, Evernote, Bubbl, etc.) are helpful to you? Do you think they will be helpful throughout high school or even college? Explain.

I like Emerging Tech.  I've learned a lot of things in the class. Even my parents were interested in the new stuff I learned. The class is pretty cool even though I'm mostly quiet. The seniors can get a little a crazy sometimes and very annoying but, I like it. I find the web tools you gave us very useful. I love Evernote because, I don't have to write down my research nor do I have to type in the same stuff to find it. They are very helpful to because, when I'm doing another research project, I know what great tools i can use. These tools will definitely be helpful through out college. I heard college was  very difficult and the tools you've provided for us will come with great use.

Blog Post of the Day:
Do you enjoy writing? When do you enjoy it? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why do you think the ability to write is so important no matter what kind of writing it is? Give an example that you enjoyed writing or hated writing. Why?

I love writing. I enjoy writing because, it always me to express myself and what I'm thinking. Mostly, I enjoy writing at home because, I have unlimited amount of time to do it, I get advice from my parents, and it would be completely quiet at home. I pour my heart and soul into essay writing. Surprisingly, it calms me down. Writing is important period because, you could not get through school without it and that means you wouldn't be able to get a decent job. One time I had to write a paper about this book. Even though I don't really like reading, it was actually a good book. So, writing a paper on the book was even more amazing.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.
When I see this quote, I mostly think of school. I think of how many students didn't do their homework for class, so all those students are unprepared. For example, I took a biology test on Friday. For some reason, I felt like I didn't need to study because I knew everything there was to the test. That was clearly wrong. While I was taking the test, I was confused on a few questions. Luckily, I passed the test with a C. So what I get from this is life is like test, if you don't prepare for it, your going to fail.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

This weekend was pretty fun I guess. Friday, I went to the football game. It was fun seeing my friends and hanging out with them. I was pretty upset they ran out of Chick-fil-a sandwiches, but it was fun cheering on the tigers. Saturday, my mother and I went to the movies. We saw this brand new movie called No Good Deed. It was pretty good but, the movie started off really slow. After the movies, we went jewelry shopping for my Homecoming dress. Then we stayed home the rest of the day and just relaxed. Sunday, when my father came home from work, we to a restaurant for lunch. The place was pretty, but I loved them for their shrimp. Then we dropped my dad off, and my mother and I went grocery shopping. When we returned, I kicked back, watched Tom and Jerry, and did the homework that I had over the weekend.

What is the importance of research? Why do you need to know how to research? What have you learned in high school about researching topics and finding quality resources? Have you had a helpful teacher that has taught you to research? Explain.

Research is important because it gives us basic or complex knowledge that we want to know about a topic. You can research things you don't know, want to know, or need help understanding something you already know. We need research because we wouldn't have full facts on a topic. You may have a little knowledge about something but, without research we wouldn't have all the facts about it. In high school, I learned that researching topics can be very difficult. Most of the time, your teacher doesn't want you to use one source. They want you to have multiply. Also, all my teachers want me to site my sources to see if their credible or not. Its hard finding good sources because there's a lot of things out there on he web and you don't if they're true or not. They always want you to use .org, .net, .edu. Sometimes those sites don't have all the information you need. Sometimes my teachers are helpful. It seem like they tell us students what to do and then we jut have to do it without any help. But, I guess that's just ho high school is.

Blog Post of the Day:

Boy, kids these days. These look crazy now in days. They have kind of color to their clothing. Nothing is bold. Everything is just so boring. It's just silly. What the heck happened to Jerry curls. Like these kids hair is just all over the place with short hair cuts and always wearing their hair straight. Have you heard their music too? Our music was the stuff. It made everybody feel good. Now these kids talkin' about killing and drugs and talking off they clothes. This is madness. Do people see how these kids use this so called text messages. I can hardly understand what my grandchildren text me. We didn't even have text messages back then. If you wanted to talk to me, you better call me on the house phone. This generation is crazy.

Tell me about the global issue you selected. What do you already know about the issue? What are you looking forward to learning about it? Explain.

My global issue is rainforest deforestation. Many people have been destroying the rainforest for their own selfish purposes and they are unaware of the repercussions of these actions. I'm looking forward to seeing how the  rainforest are being protected and whats the likely chance they will remain in our future. Also, I want to see if the rainforest could grow back if most of the trees are taken down. I also am really intrigued to learn about he hundreds of animlas

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

Honestly, I have no idea what I did on this weekend. I'm doing this blog post like a month later because I forgot to do it. i'm pretty sure I really did nothing on those two days. I probably just did homework and relaxed with my family. I think my brother left for school a few weeks before that so I was probably still a little a sad. Also, I might have went shopping. I love to do that.

Yesterday I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

Real PSA's do no not have bullets and headers. I'm sure you are probably bored seeing the same thing over and over again. Also, a person, or that person's project, can not be unique if it's the same as everybody else's. We  also wouldn't learn the full extent of google slides  if we always use the exact same things. There wouldn't be any point of you giving us a good grade because, we wouldn't have learned anything different.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

This weekend i didn't do that much honestly. My parents and i went to the mall on Saturday to find me more clothes for school.  My dad did his own little shopping while my mom helped me. We didn't do that much shopping but i was with the stuff that i got. Mom kind of got on my nerves a little bit because we went into Dillards just to look for me some regular clothes. Just so happened right next to juniors section was homecoming dresses. I really don even want to go to homecoming but, my aunt Stacey practically volunteered me to go. Anyways, she was being super annoying and wanted to look at those all day. After the mall, we went out to eat at this restaurant but, I forgot the name of it.  Then we went pillow shopping or my room because, I felt like my bed was so boring. Sunday we did the exact same thing: looking for furniture and stuff. On Monday, my dad had to work but, when he came, he and my mom were grilling since it was the holiday. While they were doing that, i was cleaning up my room. I also accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet and still haven't told them. Wish me luck. This is what I did on my labor day holiday.
